Om Nom Kitchen & Dessert Bar's new cocktail launch

Om Nom is known for its delicious desserts, however the team are making concerted efforts to its drinks and cocktails menu. Now launched, we were fortunate enough to attend a dedicated event hosted by world-renowned mixologist, Grant Collins.

Om Nom has creative cocktails available for selection, with one of our favourites (as gin fanatics!) being the Secret Garden Infuser. Using Tanqueray gin, the cocktail infuses flavours from a crisp cucumber, mint, elderflower and freshed pressed apple, and is served on a bed of edible soil and chocolate absinthe jelly worms. Who says a G&T has to be a basic spirit?

We also enjoyed the Salted Caramel Cracking Espresso, using vodka and salted caramel Kahlua, combined with an espresso shot and caramel and chocolate nitro charged foam. This is served at the table, so you get quite an experience as the waiter freeze dries the foam!

Giving the crowd an opportunity to participate and make some cocktails ourselves, Grant Collins displayed how the Nitro Tea Party gets made, a play on the long island ice tea served in a traditional teapot for the full experience.

Finally, another fascinating drink is the Porthole Infusion. Potentially mistaken for some illicit drug use, this cool concoction requires you to “smoke” the drink, being a blend of bloody mary, olives, thyme, rosemary amongst other fresh ingredients. Trust us, this is one to try!

Om Nom brings together an amazing and fresh take on cocktails that we haven’t seen executed this well before. Playing on the creativity of their team, you’ll be sure to enjoy the experience as much as the drinks themselves.

We’ll be sure to visit and try the more traditional Clover Club next time, and you can check out Om Nom yourselves at the foot of the Adelphi Hotel, located at 187 Flinders Lane.
