Plumm: Ticket to Taste

Gastrology recently attended a media preview of a new series of Plumm consumer events: Ticket to Taste.

Ticket to Taste is an immersive masterclass during which attendees learn about different wine styles and how the wine glass used changes the flavour profile of the wine.

The event was held at Project 49 in Collingwood, the new venue from wine educator, wine maker and sommelier, Rocco Esposito. Project 49 was an excellent backdrop for an evening that was both fun and informative.

We tasted our way through 5 tastes from Project 49, each matched to a glass of wine. It was an eye opening experience, tasting how the same wine differed in taste and aroma depending on the glassware used - a lesson in how much difference the glassware can make! We loved exploring the different ways a wine glass' size, shape and even the angle in which it touches your lips alters the perception of a wine's flavour and aroma.

The masterclass also includes a starter kit of Plumm European crystal wine glasses that attendees can take home with them.
