Chadstone Dining Terrace Progressive Dinner
/Chadstone Shopping Centre has been well known as the fashion capital, but now can also lay claim to being one of the thriving food hubs in Melbourne.
Last year in October, Chadstone underwent a major redevelopment, and as a result, the shopping centre now boasts two dining precincts consisting of well known establishments such as the Burger Project, New Shanghai and Fonda. Along with these restaurants, there is also Woodstock Pizzicheria, New Shanghai, Mama's Buoi, Marae Izakaya and Mezz, adding to Chadstone's high caliber of food offerings for all visitors.
To celebrate the plethora of offerings, Gastrology attended Chadstone's progressive dinner where we tasted our way through several dishes from selected restaurants. An absolute highlight was the stunning Japanese cuisine at Marae Izakaya. Boasting a modern and relaxed setting, a touch of theatre is added as guests are able to watch the chefs in action as well as select from a variety of dishes on the revolving sushi train.
Another enjoyable pitstop was Fonda where we were treated to some of their famous fish tacos washed down with refreshing "Victoria" Beer straight from Mexico and only available at Fonda. With fresh tunes, and a casual environment, Fonda is a great place to grab a meal whilst shopping the day away!
To finish off the savoury journey on the progressive dinner, Burger Project provided gourmet burgers that are made with the freshest produce. We particularly enjoyed the spicy fried chicken katsu burger which was moist, full of flavour, and of course the fried chicken possessed the requisite great crunch to complement the soft of the bun.
Chadstone's new dining precinct is a compelling proposition and provides visitors with an array of options to help fuel and re-energise any shopping day out!
