Ripponlea Food and Wine
/Culinary darling Ripponlea Food and Wine pleases with an ethos of using seasonal produce sourced which celebrates the season’s best.
To start we enjoyed the almond and quinoa crusted squid - Tender ribbons of battered calamari were served with flavoursome whipped cod roe and burnt lemon. The calamari was perfectly seasoned.
Similarly enjoyable was Ripponlea Food and Wine’s dish of heirloom carrots, baby beets, almond spiked buttermilk and roasted buckwheat. Far from being just another vegetarian option, denied due love and attention, this was a wonderful celebration of the vegetables and boasted exquisite taste and texture.
For mains the confit lamb shoulder was perfection on a plate. We loved how it was beautifully tender and served with a Middle Eastern influenced side of cauliflower cous cous, pomegranate and fresh herbs.
The desserts continued the trend of delicious dishes. The Snickers choc bomb was a particular hit - Think house made soft nougat, peanut parfait and chocolate finished with decadent hot salted caramel. YUM!
With an emphasis on tried and true flavour combinations with a modern twist, Ripponlea Food and Wine's cuisine celebrates what true casual dining is all about – simple and fresh ingredients done well.
