Upon entering, you'll find yourself in a long and narrow trattoria adorned with plush velvet booths that lead the way to an impressive open kitchen, where the gleaming Marana Forni pizza oven commands attention. The inviting atmosphere draws you in, and the scent of freshly baked pizzas wafts through the air.
For those who venture downstairs, a moody private dining room beckons, doubling as a wine cellar. Here, a green marble table can accommodate up to ten guests, making it the perfect setting for an intimate gathering or a special celebration.
Ascending to the next level, you'll discover a chic cocktail bar that offers classic Italian spritzes, alongside unique creations like Lavender Margaritas and Negronis aged in-house. The predominantly Italian wine selection ensures that you can find the perfect complement to your meal. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, with a stunning 500-bottle light installation suspended overhead, casting a warm glow over the space. If you prefer al fresco dining, there's a small courtyard outside to enjoy.
However, the true gem of Stella lies on the rooftop, a semi-covered haven that caters to patrons year-round. Here, a backlit bar and a wall adorned with lush foliage create an inviting ambiance. The rooftop offers breathtaking panoramic views of South Yarra, making it an ideal spot to witness a captivating sunset. While beverages take center stage on this level, a curated selection of snacks and pizzas is also available, inspired by owner Ali Mousavi's father, who boasted four decades of experience in running Italian restaurants.
The culinary masterpiece at Stella is not limited to the rooftop alone. The entire menu is expertly crafted under the skilled guidance of chef Michael Tse. The offerings are diverse and cater to a range of preferences. Dishes include sumptuous options like Steak tartare, Kingfish, beetroot and goat cheese, Wagyu rump camp, stone baked prawn pizza and Burrata salad.
