Taste the Barossa
/Halliday Wine Companion recently hosted an unforgettable celebration of premium Barossa Valley producer Grant Burge Wines at Melbourne Supper Club’s Tea Room.
The evening provided guests with the opportunity to sample two new releases – the Nebu Cabernet Shiraz and Black Apera PX - along with three renowned stablemates - Meshach Shiraz, Shadrach Cabernet Sauvignon, and Abednego Shiraz Mourvèdre Grenache. Each course was matched perfectly with each wine.
The event featured winemaker Craig Stansborough who charmed and guided guests through the intricate details of the featured wines and shared exclusive insights about Grant Burge Wines’ prized Barossa vineyards.
The Meshach Shiraz, Shadrach Cabernet Sauvignon and the new Black Apera PX were our favourite wines from the evening. The Meshach was rich and complex with spiced dark chocolate and red berry notes. The Shadrach on the other hand was full bodied with spicy berry fruit and liquorice and eucalypt characters. Our final wine of the evening, the Black Apera PX was the perfect dessert wine - incredibly luscious, aromatic with flavours of toffee, fruit cake and chocolate.
