Tipico
/Imbuing a sophisticated, yet seductive vibe that Italians bring so well, Tipico adds Italian flair to Windsor’s bar and restaurant playground. A bold terrazzo bar, with dark olive tones, concrete and Italian leather, Tipico delights with classic Italian flavours made with Australian ingredients in a modern setting.
The restaurant offers guests an evening of modern Italy in the restaurant’s sophisticated and seductive space located on High Street Windsor. Head chef Andrea Serreli - a true maestro of Italian fare - honours traditional Italian flavours with a subtle Australian twist.
You can’t really go wrong with the menu. To start there is the luscious eggplant parmigiana made with layers of grilled eggplant, arrabbiata sugo and heady parmigiana which is like a loving hug from nonna.
As expected of any good Italian restaurant, these guys make amazing pasta. We tried the girasoli - activated charcoal pasta encasing Moreton Bay bugs and served with an umami laden seaweed butter and spitfire chilli sauce. Simply beautiful. For something heartier, the sspinach and ricotta gnocchi is to die for – think pillow soft gnocchi tossed in zucchini puree, green peas, marinated zucchini.
Dessert time at Tipico is also memorable. The tiramisu was beautifully made and concluded our visit on a sweet end.
On the drinks front, patrons will be pleased with the wine list which shines the spotlight on Italian and Victorian wines, alongside a concise cocktail list featuring Italian classics such as Campari and Soda and Aperol Spritz.
Providing Melburnians with classic Italian hospitality, flavours and design, Tipico is a Windsor dining hotspot.
