Valentine’s Day at Oriental Teahouse
/Back by popular demand, Oriental Teahouse is launching Dumplings for Dating 2.0 exclusively for Valentine’s Day across all venues.
For $80pp, the beloved dumpling destination will bring back a new version of their 2018 smash hit event, where couples get to embark on a revealing shared menu experience with a twist. Perfect for first or second dates, or for a boozy rendezvous to spice things up, Dumplings for Dating 2.0 invites couples to get personal with fun, flirty and somewhat revealing questions while feasting through teahouse menu favourites.
Guests are greeted with sparking on arrival, before they delve into the ‘getting to know you’ board game. Consisting of three stages, pairs navigate their way through the game while devouring dumpling dishes brought out periodically. Cocktail choices are determined by responses given to the beholder and culminates with a dare-driven dessert to share.
No question is off limits and topics cover anything from phobias, hidden talents, embarrassing confessions to revealing a person’s dating history. The drink selection is intended to represent personality traits revealed in the game with categories like ‘the romantic’ or ‘the mysterious’ assigned to cocktails like The Pink Panther, Hello Vera and the classic Jasmine Margarita among other Asian inspired cocktails signature to the teahouse bar. The second stage of the game will offer players house beer and wines including Asahi, La Prova Pinot Grigio and Hesketh Art Series Shiraz.
The final stage determines a ‘happy ending’ dessert that needs to be earned by choosing a cheeky dare. Pairs can opt for a range of signature dessert dumplings or even a custard bao to end the feast. The menu consists of five main dumpling dishes, sharing dishes, two cocktails each and dessert to share. Menu classics like the chilli wagyu beef dumplings and signature white chocolate dumplings grace the menu with the food and beverage catering to vegetarian and vegan dietaries alike.
Dumplings for Dating was created in 2018 by the teahouse’s expert in-house team, incorporating the restaurant’s intimate and social setting to make it the perfect destination for a Valentine’s date. Oriental Teahouse is a household name that provides a world-class teahouse experience that is authentically Chinese but with a modern twist.
The space encompasses a day-to-night culinary experience that does not sacrifice the essence of a traditional Chinese teahouse.
