14 Days of Cheese
/14 Days of Cheese started during COVID as a pivot for an events business delivering cheese and wine boxes. These legends have now transitioned into an absolutely stunning providore, restaurant and wine bar that showcases the best cheese from Australia and around the world.
With a menu that focuses on cheese as the hero ingredient, this is truly a cheese lover's paradise. The innovative and delicious menu is the vision of head chef Drew Traynor, which spans breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is accompanied by an extensive wine list and cocktails created by Conor Jones.
To start the La Amuse Gouda croquette was simply delicious. Perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Perfectly simple, yet simply delicious. To follow the ashed goasts chevre was similarly delicious. We loved the combination of the earthy, barnyard chevre topped with gooey honeycomb, aromatic rose petals and crips beetroot chips. This was one seriously addictive plate.
For mains the fish blew our minds. A lesson in restraint, the fish was cooked to perfection and served with delicately balanced accompaniments of fermented pumpkin, sea herbs and nori, allowing the natural sweetness of the fish to shine through.
We also loved the dish of half duck, charred plum, yoghurt and lavender which was full of flavour.
We finished aptly with another cheese course - house baked foccacia, baked bert, truffle honey. It was a thing of beauty.
14 Days of Cheese is an impressive addition to Melbourne's dining scene. Combining a sensational menu with a welcomed cheesy focus, a great wine list and relaxing surrounds, it really doesn't get any better than this.
