/It's all about delicious rotisserie chickens cooked over sustainable, chemical free charcoal at Henrietta's Chicken Shop & Bar, the latest venture of all star hospitality team Stuart Brookshaw and Ruth Giffney (formerly of Albert St Food & Wine) Daniel Morgan (formerly of The Fat Duck) and Tim Hocks.
Success as a pop up has resulted in the opening of Henrietta's new permanent home tucked away in Fulham Place of Flinders Lane. The space is relaxed and inviting, with use of recycled timber lending a real sense of warmth.
Henrietta's takes the humble chicken shop to a new level, with 3 choices of chickens ranging from Bannockburn Free Range, Milawa Organic and, for those wanting to really splash out, rare breed & local farms chickens. All are brined for 12 hours before being rubbed with spices and slow roasted.
And the results speak for themselves. The chicken is sensational - beautifully tender, wonderfully flavoursome, this is restaurant quality charcoal chicken for grown ups.
For sides, Henrietta's offers a rotating range of fresh salads as well as deep fried buttermilk wings, crinkle cut chips and chargrilled corn coated in herby Queso Fresco.
Desserts are a range of simple but delicious home made ice-creams, with our favourite being the Golden Gaytime, but the Lamington with Rasberry Jam ice cream is also sensational.
