Ladurée Melbourne

Ladurée's first Melbourne luxury Parisian tearoom has officially opened in Chadstone’s new redevelopment. Founded in Paris in 1862, Ladurée is a luxury global patisserie, world famous for its opulent Macarons and Tea Houses. This site is Ladurée Australia’s third location, following two existing stores in Sydney’s Westfield and Woollahra.
Gastrology recently visited Melbourne’s new Ladurée to take the "L'Afternoon Tea" menu for a test drive. The venue houses a stunning 9-seater marble bar featuring a delicate mosaic artwork, within an opulent Parisian-inspired tearoom seating. Ladurée sits at twelve metres high, boasting the best vantage point of Chadstone’s new grid shell roof.
Unlike other High Tea experiences, Ladurée's allows diners to curate their own experience. You get to choose any drink, three macarons, and two sandwiches from their wide range of delicious treats. The High Tea also includes two traditional French cakes, financiers and madeleines.
Beautifully presented in a three tier stand the experience includes finger sandwiches of your choice, and 3 macarons each of your choosing alongside Laduree coffee, tea or hot chocolate.
As expected, the highlight of our the afternoon tea was the macarons. We loved the extensive range of macarons on offer from the more classic flavours such as salted caramel and hazelnut, to modern twists such as liquorice and rose petal.
Each macaron we sampled was assembled with care and attention; the immense pride with which Ladurée produces its macarons is evident from not only the appearance of each macaron but also in texture and taste. Ladurée’s exhibit a clear passion, patience and most importantly, precision.
Ladurée to take the "L'Afternoon Tea" is a modern and relaxing experience perfect for embracing and indulge in the sweeter things in life.
