Saké Beer Masterclass | Announcing Saké Flinders Lane and Saké Jr
/
Gastrology recently joined a Japanese Craft Beer Masterclass at Saké Hamer Hall where Bar Manager John Ross-Jones took us through a 101 of Japanese Craft Beer.
We loved tasting a variety of micro-brewed Japanese beers - from the vibrant flavoured beers such as the Hitachino Nest Real Ginger Brew which is brewed with raw ginger, and has complex flavours & aromas of ginger, citrus, and malt to a luscious Coedo Shikkoku Aged Dark Lager made from 8 types of malt which was surprisingly light on the palate and boasts coffee, malt and chocolate aromas.
Each beer was wonderfully paired with delicious signature Saké bites.
Along the way, we also got to hear some exciting news about Saké's new restaurant on Flinders Lane and the launch of their first Saké Jr. on Bourke Street.
The new restaurant will span two storeys with a dramatic dining counter combining both a sushi bar and a robatayaki grill. The counter will seat over 50 diners who will be able to peer into Saké's culinary team.
Saké Jr on the other hand will be the first of it's kind: a healthy fast fine food restaurant that will features 'grab and go' versions of Saké's signature items. Saké Jr is set to open in May and is going to be conveniently located on 555 Bourke St.
