Breakfast at Tutto Bene

Melbourne’s much loved risotteria, Tutto Bene, has recently undergone a major expansion and renovation, and is looking better than ever with some exciting new additions.
 
The renowned Italian eatery has taken over the mid level balcony overlooking the city and the Yarra River, transforming it into an alfresco casual dining area now known as the Tutto Bene Terrace. The restaurant has also undertaken an expansion of their Gelateria offering to include a communal dining booth, increasing the venue’s total capacity from 90 to a sizeable 150 patrons.
 
With more seating comes more choice: Tutto Bene has launched into the brunch arena by seriously expanding their concept to offer a unique new Italian style all-day breakfast menu. Think authentic house made cannoli filled with their award winning gelato, fried to order salumi and ricotta panzarotti, a roast pumpkin, goats cheese and caramelised shallot frittata or hot Italian croissants filled with mixed mushrooms/hand cut Italian ham. And what’s breakfast without coffee? Tutto Bene are now serving Sensory Lab coffee, with a single origin espresso rotating weekly.
 
Head chef Nathan Scarfo (who has over 12 years of experience working across well-known Melbourne venues) draws inspiration for the breakfast menu from Italy where breakfast is always on the go. The result is a new breakfast menu that focuses on serving delicious breakfast morsels, fast. Even the egg dishes on the menu can be cooked in 2.5 minutes.
 
We particularly enjoyed the latest addition to the menu, a dish of poached eggs, beetroot and grappa cured salmon with fried potato gratin. Featuring perfectly poached eggs with gooey centres, a wonderfully cured salmon which added a lovely salinity to the dish and luxuriously crisp potato gratin, this dish was simple but absolutely beautiful. 

Breakfast in the Tutto Bene Terrace while watching morning rowers glide by, sip an espresso in the Gelateria booth or grab a meal to go.
