Riché is a creative, Asian-inspired eatery set to become Melbourne’s next destination cafe. Previously known as OTTO Fine Food and Coffee, co-owners Alger Liu and Allen Goh - well-known figures in the Melbourne hospitality scene have launch a location and demographic-specific brand that suits the needs and tastes of Richmond locals. Riché is a trendy, elevated dining experience that retains a core philosophy of bringing the best in food, coffee and service. The name ‘Riché’ itself, is not only a tribute to the cafe’s location - whose community Liu acknowledges has been vital in the business’ survival - but also a reference to the richness that Liu and Goh hope the venue contributes to Melbourne’s food and beverage culture.

We loved tasting our way through the menu. The cheekily named dish of ‘Fresh Off the Boat’ was a stunner – wonderfully fresh steamed barramundi fillet is served with ginger and asian greens, soy sauce, shaoxing wine and sesame oil.

For an excellent vegan, dairy free and gluten free option, do not miss out on ‘Such A Truffle Maker’. We loved the stunning amalgamation of crispy polenta chips, sautéed exotic mushroom with truffle oil, kale and beetroot hummus, finished with luxurious pesto avocado mousse.

Whatever you do, do not leave without trying the Match-A Made In Heaven. This is perfect for the sweet tooth that is looking for a sweet brunch option or as a dish that you share at the end of the meal over coffee! Think fluffy matcha hotcake topped with silky sweet red bean paste, fresh figs, strawberries, raspberries and matcha soil topped with creamy matcha ice cream. Just yum!

Coffee is an integral part of Riché. On offer are Padre’s Daddy’s Girl as the house blend, as well as rotating single origin and filter blends, which can be enjoyed in their outdoor dining area under newly installed umbrellas; perfect for social-distanced dining as Melbournians make the most of our post-lockdown freedom and the upcoming summer weather.
