Made famous throughout Manilla with a total of five stores currently, TuanTuan Chinese Brasserie first hit the food scene in 2014 and has now opened its Melbourne outpost to great reception.

The eatery offers a gastronomic feast that brings together the best of Hong Kong on a plate from Speciality Fish Noodle Soups to Macanese dishes, Hong Kong curry, rich and creamy congee and authentic tea preparations. 

Best-known for their own take on Xue Shan Bao, or otherwise known as Signature Snow Buns, it’s not surprise that these babies are just sheer yum! Each bun is made fresh every hour and is a soft golden bun with a crisp, sweet, streusel-like top which flakes perfectly upon eating.

The Signature Snow Buns comes in a few flavours, including barbecue pork, pineapple, salted egg custard and almond cream.

Our top picks from the menu also include Pan Fried White Turnip Cake In XO Sauce – perhaps one of the most addictive and moreish versions of this yumcha staple we have ever had. For seafood lovers, the Steamed Cod Belly With Chilli and Garlic is similarly delicious. Think melt in your mouth morsels of silky fish in an umami laden spicy sauce.

For something heartier the TuanTuan curries are like a big giant hug – spiced, creamy and perfect with fluffy rice.
