Wagyu Ya
/Wagyu Ya is a testimony that Japanese cuisine is so much more than sushi, tempura and soba. Wagyu Ya and its sister restaurant Niku Ou are one of the only two restaurants in Australia to be granted with a licence to cook and serve the most rare (and expensive) beef in the world to their customers.
Situated at 156 Toorak Rd, South Yarra, the restaurant boasts an exclusive licence to serve Kobe Beef, the highly prized Wagyu beef from Japan. These legends boast an most select cuts of Japanese Kobe and Australian Wagyu, freshly flame grilled by the expert Japanese barbecue masters at your very own table.
From A5 wagyu carpaccio cold entrees, to premium hot entrées, Wagyu Ya is keen to impress.
We loved tasting our way through the stunning A5 Japanese Wagyu & M9 Full-Blooded Australian Wagyu tasting set for two.
A once-in-a-lifestyle meal, the premium tasting set includes:
Eight different kinds of mouth-watering wagyu beef (A5 Japanese Wagyu, M9 Full-Blooded Australian Wagyu and A5 Kobe Sirloin slices);
The highly prized and rare Matsutake mushroom; and
A selection of two soups (Karubi soup and Ox tongue soup).
We were simply blown away. It is certainly an experience worth having.
Wagyu Ya also serve show stopping cocktails, Japanese whisky, wine, sake and sweet treats to finish.
